Daisy's office hours, 1/11

Daisy was relaxing back at her desk in an artful way, a book of plays open in front of her.

The door was open, though Daisy was now quite used to never actually getting any visitors, and was considering finding a toothpick. She thought she might have a poppy seed stuck in her molar from this morning's bagel.

[ooc: open. The fact that 00_nova_00 came to her office is fine, but contents of the thread are NFB.]

Daisy grinned, then stepped over to close the door before turning around and moving to reach into Nova's chest and remove the soul.

It wasn't something she'd done in awhile, but a reaper doesn't forget these things.

No harm at all would come to either the soul or the body with this separation.

A shocked look went across Nova's face, what could be seen of it, before his body fell to the floor. His soul separated from his body in what looked like a small piece of candy jawbreaker maybe.

Daisy raised an eyebrow and held the little candy soul up to the light. "Now that's just bizarre." Usually when she pulled a soul, alive or dead, it looked just like the body it came out of. "Very weird." She leaned down and pushed her hand back into Nova's chest to replace the soul, then stepped back. "Thanks. Is there a reason why you look like a piece of candy?"

"..Shini-gami..." Nova said, still a little surprised by what had just happened. He got up off the floor. After he was more composed, he tried to answer her question.

"Mod-souls...were made that way...to be carried around easily." If this was a shinigami, he didn't know why she was here.

Daisy considered this and nodded. "And you're made to fight people? What's a shiny-game-y?"

"Shinigami are soul reapers."

He gave her a long stare.

"You're Shinigami...a reaper."

"I'm a reaper, yeah. But I've never heard of a 'shinigami' before. You have experience with reapers?"

Nova nodded.

"Shinigami created mod-souls."

Daisy had never heard of any reapers doing anything like that. "What do the shinigami do, exactly?"

He gave it some thought.

"Collect souls of the dead."

All of this explaining was starting to get to him. He thought it was best to give a simple answer.

"After they're dead?" Daisy asked.

Nova didn't know of any other way to collect souls.

"Once the soul leaves its body, a shinigami comes to collect it."

Daisy frowned. "That's just cruel, letting the poor person suffer their death. We always take the soul out just before they die."

"Well..." Nova wasn't sure what to say to that. He never considered that a person might suffer their death. Then again that wasn't his job.

"Really, it's barbaric." Daisy shook her head. "Well, thank you for explaining."

"Is that...it?" he asked, wondering if that was really all she wanted to know.

"Mmhm. Unless you want to borrow some DVDs to catch up with some of the rest of the class."

"Okay." Maybe he'd finally know what his favorite movie was.

Nova thanked Daisy and started to leave with the movies she had given him.
